Andrya Duff plays a young Margaret Atwood on her way to a poetry reading at Yorkville's Bohemian Embassy circa 1960-something. Sadly, gentrification pushed the artists right out of the very neighbourhood they worked so hard to build into a viable and progressive creative community as it was co-opted into the materialist mecca of that old 18-storey story we know today. The more things change....
Duff wears a vintage Vera scarf, $2.99 from Goodwill; cashmere turtleneck sweater, $5.99 from Goodwill; navy skirt, stylist's own; 1960s blue trench, $45 from Rozaneh (442 Dufferin, Unit E., 416-703-6818; Thu 2-8pm, Sun 1-7pm or by appointment); brown argyle knee socks, $0.99 from Zeller's; leather boots belonged to model's nanny.
Duff is one of the Modern Dancers who perform with The Scandelles and is a member of the dance company Project Sugar, who will be presenting the show Fallen May 17-18 at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (12 Alexander) as part of their Sex & Love Series.
